Tecture were excited to have Glen Eira City Council provide glowing feedback to our recently lodged GH Deco apartments.
With a brief to create apartments that were not human filing cabinets, we found comfort in thinking of elements that make apartments feel more like a home. One only needs to look at the many Art Deco apartment buildings within the area to understand the principles that correlate the brief and their bygone philosophies. In spatial sense, this includes foyers, kitchens, and liveable spaces. In detail senses, touches of refinement yet simplicity through forms or contrasting tones. However, the building is contemporary, and sits adjacent to a bold white rendered building. Through contrast and contradiction 1046 stands proud.
